Vitamin D deficiency linked to IBS
Are you a sufferer of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)? It has now been linked that people with this condition could have a deficiency in vitamin D.
Health journalist Sarah Stacey explains: ‘A new study by researchers at the University of Sheffield has found that the majority of participants living with irritable bowel syndrome suffer from deficiency of this important vitamin, which is usually made in our bodies by the action of sunlight on the skin. The researchers advise people with IBS to ask their GP to test for vitamin D levels and, if deficient, prescribe a supplement of D3, which has helped a significant number.’
You might not need to suffer any more, book yourself a doctor appointment and put your mind at ease.
