Now is the time to get body brushing!
Feeling sluggish and uncomfortable from overindulging? Dry body brushing is an effective way to help with bloating as massaging the lymph nodes helps the body shed excess water and eliminate toxins. Not only will your skin look instantly brighter, but it can also help improve digestion, kidney function and much more.
Begin at the ankles and brush upward using light but firm strokes. You always want to brush toward the heart because that is the way the lymph flows naturally. After you finish your legs, brush your stomach, arms, and shoulders. Your skin may be a little pink afterwards but it shouldn’t hurt – if it does, you need to lay off the pressure and avoid sensitive areas such as open cuts, abrasions and any patches of eczema or psoriasis.
We recommend a brush with natural bristles and aim to brush at least a few times a week. Then drink a glass of warm water and lemon to help jumpstart your digestive system, it is also a great way to start your day.
Body brushing is always good to do before applying a natural self-tan lotion too.
